DETOUR is pleased to resume its activities as a record label with its first ever digital only release, Many Hands Make Light Work. The inaugural EP release comes from DETOUR crew member and resident, Naeem, and is an upfront techno and electro affair with surging basslines, swirling pads, and kinetic percussion.

Those familiar with the Pittsburgh dance scene know Naeem is no stranger to the inner workings and mechanisms of the dance floor. Building off this deep knowledge and his recent releases on Electric Cafe Records and Lost Soul Enterprises, the opening track on the EP, ‘Up and Over,’ is sure to propel dancers into action with swelling bass notes, panned arpeggios, and soaring pads. From there, ‘Down for the Count’ momentarily brings down the energy and creates a more pensive atmosphere with its moody bass and sparse percussion. A steady electro beat laden with delicate chord stabs then takes over ‘On Thin Ice’ where a delayed 808 cowbell kicks and cracks through the surface before dropping down into a lake of lush pads. The dub techno inspired ‘Many Hands Make Light Work’ closes out the EP with its prominent and effective use of echoed chord stabs and percussive accents.
